Autohome was established on 8^th April 1971, when T.Rex was topping the charts, and the year the iconic floppy disc was released. Although it seems a long time ago and a lot of things have changed in the world since then, Autohome is still driven by the same customer focussed ethos it started with.

Autohome was founded in Northampton in 1971 to provide vehicle breakdown services, which at that time, were not provided by the existing Motoring Organisations. What set Autohome apart from the other breakdown providers at that time, was offering a ‘Get You Home’ service should the vehicle not be repairable roadside (it’s even in the name). Autohome expanded over the years and now provides breakdown assistance throughout Europe. Autohome International was formed over 30 years ago in Budapest, Hungary, to provide breakdown assistance in Eastern Europe.

From where we started in 1971 as an independent ‘Get You Home’ service, we have ventured into some of the more specialist areas of assistance, from classic commercial recovery, to mobility scooter and powered wheelchair rescue. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and value for money.
